How hosting works

If you have a space sitting empty, whether that is a shopfront between tenants, a warehouse with room to spare or a studio you only use part of the week, hosting turns it into something. Here is what that actually involves.

What you can list

Shopfronts, warehouses, studios, galleries, event spaces, meeting rooms, kitchens and unusual rooms that do not fit any of those. If someone would pay to use it for a day, a week or a month, it can be listed.

What makes a space get booked

Photographs that show the room honestly, a description that answers what people actually ask, and a reply that arrives the same day. Those three things separate the listings that get booked from the ones that never get a message.

How enquiries reach you

An enquiry comes through with the dates, what the person wants to do and anything they have told us about their requirements. You decide whether it suits. Nothing is committed until you say yes.

What to have ready

Access details, what is and is not included, whether there is power, water and a bathroom, any rules about what can be fixed to walls, and your own insurance position. Having those answers ready is the difference between an enquiry that converts and one that goes quiet.

Common questions from hosts

What does it cost to list a space?

Listing a space does not cost anything.

Do I have to accept every enquiry?

No. You see what is being asked for and decide each time.

How do I set the price and availability?

You control both. Use realistic rates for the space and keep the available dates current. The team can discuss comparable bookings if you need a starting point.

Who handles enquiries and paperwork?

Spacenow sends you the enquiry details and helps coordinate negotiation and paperwork. You decide whether the request suits before anything is confirmed.

What insurance do I need as a host?

Insurance depends on the property and proposed use. Tell us what cover you hold and check with your insurer or adviser before accepting a booking.

Can I decline a booking or pause my listing?

Yes. You can decline an enquiry that does not suit and control when the space is available. Nothing is committed until you approve it.
